TOURISM IN NEPAL: A FUTURE OPPURTUNITY

Simply, tourism is travel for recreation leisure or business purposes. The world tourism organization defines tourism as people who “travel to and stay in place outside their usual environment for more than twenty four hours and not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purpose not related to the exercise of an activity remunerated from within the place visited”. The UN has derived different categories of tourism by combining the three basic forms of tourism: internal tourism, which comprises domestic tourism and outbound; national tourism which comprises domestic tourism: and international tourism, which consists of inbound tourism and outbound tourism.
Historically, the arrival of tourists to visit Nepal, was started a long period back. The number of tourists is increasing and decreasing in respect of national situation. The best way to experience Nepal’s unbeatable combination of natural beauty and cultural riches is to walk through them, Himalayan ranges of Nepal have been an attraction to many people, be they saint, philosophers, researchers and adventures. The world tourism industry is affected by four ‘ S’ sun, sand, sea, and sex. Nepal is a paradise for bird lovers with over 646 species of birds. Mountain flight, Rock climbing, Hot air ballooning, bungy jump, paragliding and riding on mountain bike are major adventures in Nepal. Rafting is also one of the best ways to explore the typical cross section of nature as well as ethno- cultural heritage of the country. The ultimate thrill of a bangy jump can now be experienced in Nepal at  one of the best sites that this sport can boast of anywhere in the world.
